5 Days in Sumba (end)
DAY 3
After we checked out from Hotel Sinar Tambolaka. I put all the stuff before we left Tambolaka and start the journey to the opposite side of Sumba, which will took 6 hours, but we will stop by in some places. During the journey to the next destionation, we(me and other participant) are talking many things with our tour guide about the uniqueness of Sumba, the recent reign of Sumba, and how Sumba is getting bigger now. The electricity in this island also already spreading into rural area in Sumba. Our first stop in this day is Praijing Cultural Village.
Although the traditional house is almost the same like Ratenggaro, but this village present us the view of valley from the top of the village. What's unique from this village is they put cemetery in the middle of the village (i do apologize but taking photos is prohibited in this area). The people are also very friendly to us. Just for reminder: you can bring stationery, clothes, or even foods to share with them and they will love it.
If you are watching Pendekar Tongkat Emas, this film was shoot one of their scene in Lapopu Waterfall. Yes,that's my next destination. Nowadays, Lapopu already taking over by Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Ticket admission fee cost 15 thousand rupiah for domestic visitor and 150 thousand rupiah for foreign visitor, wow that's a big difference fee. When, I arrived at the parking area. It's started to get raining and all of us are agree to wait for the rain to stop. After the rain stop, we are begin to start trekking to waterfall, you have to pass slippery road, river, and bamboos bridge. For me, the waterfall is magnificent. But, here again, it starting to get raining. So, we can't do many things in the waterfall and must get back to car.
Our third spot is also very famous, Bukit Wairinding. This is a place when traveler can see valleys. In dry season, this valley will give you yellow colour. But, when I came it was green because of rainy season. For real, i witnessed the real windows desktop wallpaper. Bukit Wairinding also located near Waingapu City.
For sunset in this day, I went to Walakiri Beach. For me,this beach has no difference with other public beach but surely their mangrove and sunset makes me wants to go back to Sumba. This beach is located near Waingapu Airport, traveler also can see some homestay in this area. The beach wave also very calm not like other beach such as Mandorak and Bwana. I also can see public toilet in here. Because, in many Sumba tourist spot doesn't provide public toilet.
DAY 4 4
I left a bit early today to go to Tarimbang Beach. This is a white sand beach with no other tourist except us. Yup, that's true. It took 3 hours to reach this beach and passing through jungle and no-signal for phone but the view is can't be expressed by word.
After that we stop by at Bukit Wailara. Tell me, have you ever having lunch with the view like this ?
That's the moment when God helps you, after you got storm in your life then Life replace it with something irreplaceable.
2 hours later, I capture the wild life of Sumba horses in Savana Purukambera. This place is also an alternative way to Tambolaka. Purukambera is usually use for pre-wedding photoshoot and other popular photoshoot.
In the end of the day, i admit that I am a bit disappointed because I have to go back to J-town in the next day.
DAY 5
Before Pak Patrys drop us at the Airport. He took us to Bukit Persaudaraan, it took 5 minutes driving from Waingapu Airport. Traveler might see the view of Waingapu city from up here. And we took some photos up here before we are going to the airport.
Unique Fact about Sumba Teenager :
If someone want to marry a woman. He must give her parents 50 horses and 50 cows as dowry. Then,if he can't complete the requirements then he must live with the woman's parents. So, divorce is very often happen in Sumba because how come a couple is getting divorce while her husband isn't completing the marriage requirements
